Academy Program Overview
Academy is a drop-off academic program for students in grades 6–12, running 30 weeks during the school year. Content is taught by our Love First Academic Coaches. Students attend in person on Tuesdays.
Academy is designed to help students grow in independence and responsibility — a stepping stone between the flexibility of homeschooling and the accountability that comes with learning alongside others outside the home.
On a typical Academy day, the drop-off window opens at 9:05 am for students with a first-period class. First period begins at 9:15 am. There are four periods throughout the day, with the final period ending at 1:10 pm. Students do not need to attend the entire day — classes may be taken à la carte. Students with a gap between classes may sign up for study hall or must be picked up and returned by a designated transportation person.
Academy is built around two core components:
Tuesdays — In-Person Class: Required weekly attendance for instruction, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
Weekly Assignments: A full schedule of coursework outside of class time, structured to reflect the depth and rigor appropriate for each student's grade level.
As an Academy member, your registration also covers enrollment in all other Love First programs — Co-op, Scholar's Hub, and Club & Event. Be sure to explore the other program overview tabs for more information!
